This session was super informative! I think coming in to tutoring I was nervous but now I definitely feel more prepared. Especially the schoolhouse intro and the website can be quite confusing, so to have help going over it was super helpful. Also the environment was super friendly and fun even though cold-calling happened. I feel more prepared technically, as well as more aware of what a tutoring session should look like from this super informative session. Thanks Amelia!!!

I learned so much from this tutoring session! I am glad that I attended on the last session of the bootcamp even though I was extremely busy. So far, I really enjoy the lessons from this tutor that I became unaware 2 hours has passed by. These sessions has always been beneficial. It made me realize that there was plenty I forgot about math throughout my high school years, and she did a great job at brushing those up with easy-to-understand explanations. These have also made me critically think of the problem and try to think of easier solutions. I think in the education for math where I live in follows a set of rules and patterns on basic problems; they don't teach you to think outside of the box which has been difficult in solving more complex ones but I'm glad I found Amelia as a tutor to realize that and think more creatively about them.

I appreciate the clear explanations to solving the problems while creating a community by involving everyone. She is also extremely patient and friendly when someone experiences technical issues or unable to figure out the problem. She also makes room for available questions at the end of each problem, and I think that it is great for those are are afraid to interrupt or ask.

I really love how sweet you are and you really explain reasonings to why answers are wrong. It is also easy to understand the lessons as you go through and it makes this time go by fast.

This was my first tutoring session, and I felt this was extremely productive, not only that it emphasized areas where I lack in math but already felt as if I was apart of a community. She tries to have many engage with the problems, and even though they do not know the answer, she does not become impatient.
