About

In this enrichment series, learners will be introduced to the fundamentals of robotics and engineering through global robotics programs such as FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition.

We will explore what robotics is, how robots are designed and programmed, and how students around the world participate in robotics competitions to solve engineering challenges. The sessions will also cover the engineering design process, robot components such as motors and sensors, teamwork in robotics teams, and how students can start or join robotics initiatives in their own communities.

Learners should expect interactive discussions, examples of real robotics systems, and opportunities to ask questions about robotics, engineering, and STEM careers. By the end of the series, students will have a strong understanding of robotics fundamentals and how robotics programs can help them develop engineering and problem-solving skills.

View Profile

**Hi everyone!** I'm a high school junior from New York with a strong passion for computer science, especially Java and Python. I have experience in programming through robotics competitions like FRC and various personal projects, including app development and simulations. I'm excited to join Schoolhouse to help students build confidence in coding, whether they’re just starting out or looking to improve their skills. My goal is to make programming fun, engaging, and approachable for everyone. Looking forward to learning and growing together! 🚀

In this enrichment series, learners will be introduced to the fundamentals of robotics and how engineering concepts are applied to real-world technology. We will discuss what robotics is, the basic components of robots (such as motors, sensors, controllers, and programming), and how engineers design robots to solve problems. The sessions will also introduce global robotics programs run by FIRST, including FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition. Learners will learn how these programs allow students to build robots, work in teams, and participate in engineering competitions. Throughout the series, we will explore the engineering design process, teamwork in robotics, and how students can get involved in robotics or STEM learning in their own schools or communities. Sessions will include interactive discussions, examples of robotics systems, and opportunities for learners to ask questions and engage with engineering concepts.
