Hi, my name is Reese! Reading is my favorite hobby and subject, and I'm happy to help with SAT prep!

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can!

We’ll start with an orientation to get to know each other and introduce the Bootcamp. Then, we will work through a Pre-Test and review questions you’d like to go over. There will be a bit of a break between this session and April because of spring break; take the time to think about anything you want to ask in future sessions, and enjoy the time off!

We'll warm up with grammar practices before starting with the session focus on information and ideas, learning how to analyze articles and comprehend graphs with targeted group practice. Learners will take a short practice test on the session topic before going over any problems or difficulties with the questions.

Today's focus will be craft and structure, analyzing how authors use specific words, organization, and rhetorical choices to convey meaning. Like last session, learners take a short practice test before the session's targeted group practice to address weak points with today's focus.

The focus of today is expression of ideas, reading bulleted points and transitions authors use to identify the claim they want to make.

Today's focus is standard English conventions. We'll focus on grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure along with tips and patterns to recognize when to properly use specific types of grammar and punctuation.

Learners will take Bluebook's Practice Test 10. Remember to take notes on any difficult questions to review next session!

Today we'll review and reflect on the practice test from last session. We will start this session by going over the most missed questions from the reading module before taking a short post-test for any last-minute issues and concerns.

This will be the final learning session covering tips, tricks, and any more confusing topics for the reading section of the SAT.
