About

When you argue with someone, how do you win? What do you rely on? Your voice, full of passion? Or a cool head using facts and logic? Either way, Speech and Debate can strengthen those abilities and enrich your life. Not just in arguing. Presentations, seminars, and even tutoring on Schoolhouse - they all rely on PUBLIC SPEAKING. In this course, we'll cover the basics of some Speech and Debate events I've participated in - Public Forum, Original Oratory, Extemporaneous, Impromptu, Dramatic Interpretation - and getting exposed to different speaking styles, different forms of competing, and how to form arguments. This is a restart of the same series of the same name but in a different time zone! NOTE: You must be able to actively participate in the session, whether it be in the chat or preferably out loud! Hey! I'm Stella and I'm a senior (G12). I have been an avid speaker and debater since middle school and I think that Speech and Debate empowers people, so I want to come on here to give people the opportunity to develop their own voice! I also love history and love talking about all the stories and all the connections we have to one other throughout the vast span of time. Together, I hope to bring some fun new content onto schoolhouse so that everyone can enjoy history and speaking with me!
