About

Hi, my name is Hotaru and I'm really excited to help you prepare for the upcoming March SAT! I am a high school student currently taking Calculus 3 and I scored a 790 on the recent December SAT math section. I've also also been a math tutor for many years so I hope you will trust me to help prepare you for your own testing journey!

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can!

Hi there! I'm Hotaru — a high school student from the U.S. with plans to pursue a career in medicine. I tutor all levels of math (up through calculus 3) and also enjoy working with students on reading and writing — especially as an editor on the Schoolhouse Blog Team! I'm happy to support language learners in beginner Japanese as well. I have scored a 1550 on the SAT (790 Math, 760 R&W) and a 35 on the ACT, so reach out for any help with test prep! When I’m not tutoring, you’ll probably find me reading, running, or baking something sweet. :)

What you'll do

Review core concepts and test-taking strategies, with a peer tutor who excelled on the SAT.

Practice and review official full-length SAT® practice tests, including one Bluebook test.

Get personalized support with the most challenging questions and concepts.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

To get the most out of this series and respect other learners, follow these attendance rules:

You can only miss one unexcused session over the four weeks. Missing more can impact your learning and may take a spot from another learner who wants to join.

Need to miss a session? Let your tutor know by using the "Submit excused absence" button on the series page. Then, catch up by using the Session Makeup Guide or attending a live make-up session.

Multiple unexcused absences? If you reach two unexcused absences, you may be removed from the series and your Schoolhouse account may be suspended.
