About

Each week, we will go over one topic from the reading and writing section of the SAT. Topics include Information and Ideas, Craft and Structure, Expression of Ideas, and Standard English Conventions. One of the biggest challenges for the reading and writing section is time management, so we will try to focus on longer passages in order to make the jump from learning reading skills to implementing them quickly. In each lesson, students can ask questions while we go over practice problems together, and when they are ready, can move on to timed practice problems. There will be 6 lessons total, with each lesson being an hour long (except for test day). This course is open to everybody, as there is no prior knowledge or extra materials required.

Hi, I'm Samuel and I am here to tutor students who would like help preparing for the SATs or help with high school math classes. I led a peer-to-peer math tutoring program when I was in middle school and I currently help younger students at a library learn how fun math can be, especially when it is applied to engineering.

Today, we will be going over reading and writing practice test from last session. I will go over the correct answers, as well as why the wrong answers do not work. After that, I will go over general test-taking strategies. No Prior knowledge or extra materials are required!
