About
Hi! I’m Eli, and I’ve been tutoring SAT math boot camps since last June! I’m going to be starting my first year of college this fall, and I have completed high school math through AP Calculus BC as well as advanced logic and set theory classes. I have taken the SAT twice and the PSAT once. I used Khan Academy to prepare each time, and I loved it, so I’m excited to help y’all through the same material. I firmly believe in learning from “first principles”, which means understanding why you’re doing something, not just how to do it. For example, you might know that any number with an exponent of zero is equal to one. But do you know why? In addition to using first principles to brush up on the actual math, I’ll also go over test taking strategies - for example, you can find the correct answer to some SAT problems even if you don’t know how to solve the stated problem, and similar tricks can help you earn points and save time.
Join this Onboarding Session required for Tutors participating in their first SAT Bootcamp! You’ll go over useful tutoring skills and have the chance to meet other Bootcamp tutors like you.
