About

In this course, students will develop a strong and intuitive understanding of SAT Math.

We will start with a formal practice test to better identify everyone's weak points. Then in later sessions, we'll specifically focus on problem types that learners are weak in, and review core concepts & do more practice for understanding as necessary.

Out ultimate goal will be to build logical problem-solving approaches that transfer across different SAT questions, helping you feel more confident when facing both familiar and new problem types.

Hi y'all. I'm currently a G11 student based in China. I love going to theatres, learning languages, hiking and Chinese traditional archery. Here I mainly do SAT Math tutoring (as an 800 scorer ;)) and please always feel free to reach out!

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You're expected to attend all sessions in this series. Please message the tutor for any absences at least 1 hour before the session begins.

You'll be withdrawn from the series if you miss any session without giving the tutor prior notice.

SESSION 1

SAT Math

SAT Math

Sat 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM UTCDec 27, 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM UTC

In the first session, we will begin with a brief icebreaker to get to know each other. (5 minutes)

After that, learners will do a 35-min SAT Math practice test (Module 1) independently. We will then go through the questions that most people struggle with. (50mins total)

Before the end of the class, learners may share their feelings on the practice test they just took. I'll share some tips I use for self reflection on SAT prep as well. (5 mins)

Enjoy!

SAT Math

Sat 1:00 AM - 2:15 AM UTCJan 3, 1:00 AM - 2:15 AM UTC

In the second session, we'll first review the practice test completed in the first session. We'll be covering every problem in detail & have further instructions on problems alike.

After that, we'll recapture knowledge in Geometry, and Word problems specifically. Learners will be encouraged to share basic concepts & a few classic approaches to questions in these 2 fields, based on what they've learned in the review section.

Finally, learners will spend around 5 mins to reflect on this session, ask additional questions & give feedbacks!

*Edited, put more emphasis on the review section and internalize *skills in Geometry, and Word problems* in the review.

Fri 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM UTCJan 9, 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM UTC

*Right now it's just a place holder. Session time might be changed.*

We'll first finish reviewing for the practice test (which is around 10 problems remaining).

Then, we're going to look at a problem set I designed for Geometry&Trignometry. We'll solve from the easiest must-know concepts to relatively easy questions, and gradually to harder questions (all selected from past SAT tests).

We're going to look at Geometry&Trignometry problems. We'll solve from the easiest must-know concepts to relatively easy questions, and gradually to harder questions (all selected from past SAT tests).

We're going to look at a problem set I designed for Advanced Math. We'll solve from the easiest must-know concepts to relatively easy questions, and gradually to harder questions (all selected from past SAT tests).

Note that this class is estimated (by me) to be a bit dry and boring, as it's advanced math! But we'll tackle this inevitable challenge together, and maybe we'll have some *session relevant* fun stuff accidentally added into the slides...who knows...

SAT Math

Sat 1:00 AM - 1:50 AM UTCJan 31, 1:00 AM - 1:50 AM UTC

We're going to look at a problem set I designed for Problem Solving (basically, these require you to do analysis&calculation based on conditions modeling real world scenarios). We'll solve from the easiest must-know concepts to relatively easy questions, and gradually to harder questions (all selected from past SAT tests).

We're going to look at a problem set I designed for Questions with charts, graphs, and functions (usually testing your understanding of function meanings, and the ability to do data analysis). We'll solve from the easiest must-know concepts to relatively easy questions, and gradually to harder questions (all selected from past SAT tests).
