About

Each week, we will explore articles that explain different global events or concepts that shape the world today. Sessions will examine the historical background of the topic, what is currently happening, and how it connects to broader global systems such as politics, economics, technology, and culture. I will provide key context and takeaways at the start of each session to help students build literacy in global systems and ideas. We can also focus on specific individuals to understand their perspectives on concepts and ideas.

This course is intentionally flexible and participant-driven. Topics may shift based on group interest or emerging global trends, and we may spend more time on issues that generate stronger discussion. The goal is not to reach a single “correct” interpretation, but to develop a deeper, more connected understanding of how global systems influence one another and shape the world we live in.
