About

What comes to mind when you hear the word "calculus"?

For many people, calculus is often associated with difficulty and despair. Perhaps fairly so; indeed, calculus is notorious for being a class that is hard to understand and easy to fall behind in.

But it doesn't need to be.

My name is George Hartman, and I’ve scored a 5 on both the AP Calculus AB and BC exams. In this course, I aim to challenge the notion that calculus is only for the geniuses among us. By connecting complex concepts to simple ideas and supplementing each new topic with an engaging video or activity, I plan to not only teach you as much as I can about all things calculus, but also to provide you with a fun and interesting experience while doing so. And after each session, it's my hope that you'll walk away feeling just a little bit smarter and more capable.

This 9-week course will focus on the core components of the AP Calculus AB curriculum. Each of the first 8 weeks will be devoted to a unit of Calculus AB, and we will advance through the units sequentially. In week 9, we will learn about a few foundational Calculus BC concepts.

This course is intended to be fun and approachable for all skill levels, from struggling student to top-of-the-class

I can't wait to help make calculus into an engaging and accessible subject for you!

Hello all! I'm currently a senior and enrolled in public high school. Last year I achieved a 1600 superscore on my SAT, got a B+ in a college-level Calculus BC course, and self-studied 2 AP Physics courses; 1 and 2. This year I hope to be able to help prospective students out with all of these subjects and more! In my free time, I enjoy playing disc golf, going bowling, and playing pickleball.
