About

Are you curious about how to solve math SAT problems more efficiently? Have you always wondered why people say Desmos is so useful for the SAT? Do you want to learn how to solve problems instantaneously that would take minutes to do by hand?

If so, join this series, which focuses on all the Desmos skills you'll ever need to slay the SAT! We'll cover how to graph lines from tables, how to use sliders, how to find intersection points and intercepts, and how to use Desmos to solve complex problems. I'll end every session with a quick "just for fun" mini-lesson (like how to make custom colors in Desmos) to encourage you to further explore this magnificent calculator.

Each session will be primarily a lesson about Desmos strategies, but there will be a few minutes to practice your new skills, and I'll send you home with practice problems you can use (or not) to hone your Desmos expertise.

Finally, a bit about me: My name is Leif, and I'm an experienced SAT tutor (both volunteering on Schoolhouse and doing it for pay around my town). As you can probably guess, I'm a huge Desmos nerd and have even made a couple pieces of complex Desmos art.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!

Hi there! My name is Leif and I'm excited to help you with anything SAT, math, or science-related! I'm a high school senior from Oregon with quite a bit of tutoring experience---both in my community and on Schoolhouse---and I also enjoy peer reviewing and especially hosting SAT BC Onboarding Sessions. At school, I participate in cross country and track, Science Bowl, and Model UN, and play the clarinet and tenor sax in the jazz band. My favorite subject is math (calculus-related is best), but I also like studying physics, biology, english, and mandarin Chinese. In my free time, I love to go on runs, read long books (my favorite is Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts), cook/bake, and do portrait photography. In the great outdoors, I enjoy skiing, scuba diving, waterskiing, hiking, and traveling with family. Have a great day, and I look forward to seeing you in a session or discussion thread someday!
