About

Taking a psychology course is so much fun, but there is so much to learn! I spent a lot of extra time during the school year studying and studying because I felt like there was always something I didn't understand or didn't remember. Because I have a huge passion for psychology, I really want to help people who take this course succeed! I'll be using the College Board curriculum, Myers' Psychology For The AP® Course, and resources my teacher provided me with.

Here is what we will be learning:
Unit 0**: Introduction to Psychology
Examine the different psychological perspectives, research methods, and the history of psychology.
Unit 1: Biological Bases of Behavior
Study behaviors and mental processes from a biological perspective and explore the effects of the interaction between human biology and our environment.
Unit 2: Cognition
Examine the complex nature of how memory, intelligence, and other mental processes impact human behavior.
Unit 3: Development and Learning
Study how physical and social changes over humans’ lifespans can influence behavior and mental processes from a variety of perspectives and how learning works.  Unit 4: Social Psychology and Personality
Study how the social experience influences behavior of individuals and groups and how personality is studied and develops.
Unit 5: Mental and Physical Health
Learn how psychologists promote mental and physical health and evaluate, study, and treat a range of psychological disorders.

**While Unit 0 isn't officially on the AP exam, it is crucial to know everything from it, because it applies to the other units! There is a lot of statistics on it, but it's relatively simple. My teacher taught it to us, and it was very worthwhile!

I will also go over anything complicated that I struggled with or that you guys need assistance with! I'll also do reviews when test day gets close :)

I'm so excited to meet and get to know you!

(pur-seh-fuh-nee) Hello! I am an incoming high school senior who wants to help other people learn. I am going into psychology, and also have an interest in writing poetry. I work at an elementary school during the school year, which has led to teaching becoming a big passion for me. I try to challenge myself with AP classes. So far I've taken AP Seminar, AP Lang, and AP Psych, and during my senior year I'll be taking AP French, AP Stat, and AP Lit. I would love to assist with anything related to psychology or English. I am also a singer: getting into the All-Eastern Choir Ensemble is my greatest achievement, so if you also have any questions about singing, feel free to ask :)
