About

AP Lang can be tough with the amount of concepts you need to learn! I remember being super overwhelmed at the beginning of the year, and I would have loved to have had extra support. I got a 5 on my AP exam, but I couldn't have done it without tutoring, so I wanted to help others who are worried about taking the course or just want to increase their knowledge. I will be using the College Board curriculum as well as resources my teacher used and extra things I did myself when studying! This course will go throughout the school year.

Here is what we will be learning:
1. Rhetorical Situation: Reading
Explain how writers’ choices reflect the components of the rhetorical situation.
2. Rhetorical Situation: Writing
Make strategic choices in a text to address a rhetorical situation.
3. Claims and Evidence: Reading
Identify and describe the claims and evidence of an argument.
4. Claims and Evidence: Writing
Analyze and select evidence to develop and refine a claim.
5. Reasoning and Organization: Reading
Describe the reasoning, organization, and development of an argument.
6. Reasoning and Organization: Writing
Use organization and commentary to illuminate the line of reasoning in an argument.
7. Style: Reading
Explain how writers’ stylistic choices contribute to the purpose of an argument.
8. Style: Writing
Select words and use elements of composition to advance an argument.

I will also go over anything complicated that I struggled with or that you guys need assistance with! I'll also do reviews when test day gets close :)

I'm excited to get to know you and help you ace your AP Lang test!

(pur-seh-fuh-nee) Hello! I am a high school senior who wants to help other people learn. I am going into psychology, and also have an interest in writing poetry. I work at an elementary school during the school year, which has led to teaching becoming a big passion for me. I try to challenge myself with AP classes. So far I've taken AP Seminar, AP Lang, and AP Psych, and during my senior year I'll be taking AP French, AP Stat, and AP Lit. I would love to assist with anything related to psychology or English. I am also a singer: getting into the All-Eastern Choir Ensemble is my greatest achievement, so if you also have any questions about singing, feel free to ask :)
