About

Welcome to the InspireTalks, a featured competition in Schoolhouse Nexus to celebrate Schoolhouse’s 5th Anniversary! This event is designed to test participants’ research and public speaking abilities while also evaluating key skills such as critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. Participants will compete in a structured, multi-round format, with increasing difficulty and eliminations at each stage.

If you’ve ever seen a Ted Talk before, our event rounds will run similar to how Ted Talks go, with a few differences. In our first round, you’ll get to present a short Ted Talk on a topic of your choice (provided that it adheres to Schoolhouse policy). The following three rounds will consist of extempore Ted Talks, which means that you’ll have a set amount of time to research and come up with a speech on a specific topic that’ll be given at the session. Then, in our final round, our finalists will compete against each other for one final Ted Talk for the title of the winner!

Since this event aims to test your research abilities among other skills, you’re allowed to consult any resources at your disposal except for AI tools like ChatGPT.

Hey everyone! I am Hafsah, an incoming high school junior from India, studying advanced courses well ahead of my age. I'm really passionate about anything related to maths, CS and science. In my free time, I love to read, ski, research on random topics that catch my interest, do some cooking and learn new languages. I've taken the Digital SAT, with a superscore of 1530 (750 R&W, 780 Math).
