About
In this session, we'll be discussing Artificial Intelligence and will use this discussion guide. We'll explore questions like:
- Are you more optimistic or pessimistic about the potential of AI?
- How might AI help improve the global economy, expand human knowledge, and enhance social connection?
- How might AI weaken democracy, harm the global economy, spread disinformation, or decrease social connection?
- How should AI be regulated?
- What role should AI play in education?
📌 Session introduction: At the start of the session, the event host will provide some introductory remarks about how the session will work and tips for discussion.
🧩 Discussion partner matching: All participants will be matched with a conversation partner to discuss with. If there are uneven numbers, you may have two conversation partners.
🤝 Breakout discussions: After the session introduction, everyone will switch to their breakout discussion. Your discussion will be unmoderated, so you can start when your partner arrives in the new Zoom link.
🗺️ Discussion Guide: You will have a topic-specific discussion guide for the session to help guide conversation.
⏰ Session length: The breakout discussions are scheduled for 45 minutes but you can discuss as long as you want!
✅ Stay on topic: Please make sure to stay on topic. If you and your partner run out of things to discuss, it’s okay to end the discussion early. You will not be returning to the main group when your conversation is over.
🤔 Make the discussion your own: You probably won’t have time to answer all the guide questions so pick and choose! Feel free to also bring in your own questions and ideas outside of the guide.
📝 Survey: A mandatory survey will appear at the end of your session to fill out. This must be filled out for you to get credit for the session in your Dialogues portfolio.
🤸♂️ Have fun: There is no preparation needed for this event. These conversations are meant to be casual, in addition to being meaningful. We hope you enjoy it!

Hey everyone! I am Hafsah, an incoming high school junior from India, studying advanced courses well ahead of my age. I'm really passionate about anything related to maths, CS and science. In my free time, I love to read, ski, research on random topics that catch my interest, do some cooking and learn new languages. I've taken the Digital SAT, with a superscore of 1530 (750 R&W, 780 Math). I'd be happy to help out with anything related to Math (from Pre-Algebra to Calculus), Science, Computer Science or SAT Prep.
