About

In this series, we will learn all the basics of Turkish, including vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. The goal of this series is to teach you how to speak, read, and write basic Turkish. There will be an emphasis on the speaking part as that is the hardest part of any language to understand. We will engage with each other through discussions and through utilizing the chat feature. Turkish is a beautiful language and I am excited to share it with you. Each session will consist of related vocabulary to the topic and grammar exercises. Speaking and cultural topics will also be included. The session times may change as the summer continues on. If certain times work best for you, please let me know. I will also add more office hours and catchup sessions as needed. Lastly, I will also add more sessions especially if a lot of people are interested in continuing the series.

I am an undergraduate double majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology and Zoology. I am also minoring in Business. I speak 3 languages which are English, German, and Turkish. As a tutor, I am very passionate about helping students reach their full potential in school. I tutor biology, chemistry, writing, German, Turkish, and a variety of AP classes to help students prep for their exams. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, playing D&D, and watching movies/TV shows.

We will introduce ourselves and start learning the pronunciation of the alphabet. Turkish has some extra letters and sounds that English does not have. We will practice our pronunciation by reading short sentences and playing a "guess the letter" game.

Now that we have learned and practiced the pronunciation, we will start speaking actual sentences. We will start by learning the introduction vocabulary and the present continuous tense. At the end, we will play a quizziz over the vocabulary.
