About
This intermediate French course is designed for students who already have a solid foundation in the language and are ready to build greater fluency, accuracy, and confidence. The class focuses on strengthening speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while expanding vocabulary and mastering more complex grammar structures.
Students will review and deepen their understanding of key grammatical concepts such as past tenses (passé composé vs. imparfait), future and conditional forms, object pronouns, relative pronouns, and the subjunctive mood. Emphasis is placed on real-world communication through discussions, debates, role-plays, and presentations.

In our first class, we’re diving into the passé composé — the go-to tense for talking about things that already happened. If you’ve ever wanted to say “I ate,” “I went,” or “I watched,” this is the tense you need!
We’ll cover:
How to build the passé composé using avoir and être
How to form regular past participles (and a few common irregular ones)
Which verbs use être (movement & reflexive verbs)
Basic agreement rules (don’t worry — we’ll keep it simple!)
We’ll start with clear examples, then practice together as a class. After that, you’ll work with a partner to talk about what you did last weekend, what you ate, where you went, or something fun that happened recently.
