About

We are piloting a new model to help you reach your learning goals! • This series is for you if: • You have set a goal for yourself in Khan Academy (ex: to complete a unit test or get a certain score on a practice quiz) and would like to receive extra support from a community of tutors/learners to reach that goal! We would love to have you join us in trying out this new Learning Lab format! • How will the model work? • Approximately 10 learners and 3 tutors will work together in a Khan Academy Learning Lab series. Learners will be working on their independent goals in a team environment and will receive targeted 1:1 support from the Tutor Support Trio that will be assigned to the series. • Example: One learner's goal might be to complete Pre-Algebra Unit 1: Factors and Multiples and another learner's goal might be to score 90% on the Percent Word Problems quiz in Pre-Algebra Unit 5. • The Tutor Trio roles will rotate each session. There will be one Main Room Tutor (acting as emcee and helping to direct learners for 1:1 support) and two 1:1 Support Tutors (providing targeted 1:1 support to help learners with specific content questions and also general learning strategies). • Sessions will run for 90 minutes per week.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please make an effort to attend all tutoring sessions. This is a short summer pilot and we are targeting 100% attendance from learners for the 3-week series.

About the Tutor

I'm a senior in high school from Texas. I am taking many advanced classes in the school year and want to pursue aerospace engineering. I love to tutor here and I love it when learners understand a concept that they have been struggling with. I know a lot of math ranging from pre-algebra to pre-cal, SAT/ACT, to advanced sciences such as chemistry and physics with some brief knowledge on Quantum Physics and some humanities topics such as economics. I enjoy spending time watching movies/tv shows, participating in robotics and my other extracurriculars such as ACE and FBLA. I have taken many AP classes with 4s and 5s on them and am currently taking a lot more. I've gotten a 35 on the ACT, 1460 on the SAT and was a 2023 FBLA NLC competitor in Journalism.
