About

We'll go through the most important concepts of pre-algebra while becoming more confident in our math skills! This entire course will utilize materials from Khan Academy so learners can practice material after class and come with questions! The topics we will cover include: - Ratios and rates: We'll dive deep on understanding how to simplify ratios to arrive at a unit rate and applying ratios to real word problems. - PEMDAS/BODMAS: We'll review the idea of order of operations and introduce exponents on whole numbers, negative numbers, and fractions! - Equations/Inequalities: We'll practice working with like terms, performing operations to both sides of an equation or inequality, and isolating the variable. - Multi-step equations: We'll expand on what we covered previously and incorporate equations of slightly more difficulty that require multiple steps! - Two-variable equations: We'll walk through the concept of slope and representing linear equations with two variables using slope-intercept form! I'm very excited to work with you and look forward to working with you in this series :))
