About

In this three-week workshop, students will learn how to tackle each of the three AP English Language and Composition essay types with confidence and accuracy! Each week focuses on one essay: Synthesis, Rhetorical Analysis, Argument, breaking down how to read prompts, plan essays quickly, and write strong, thesis-driven responses under timed conditions. By the end of the series, students will have a clear strategy for approaching the AP Lang exam and crafting high-scoring essays.

In our first session, we’ll tackle the Argument Essay, understanding how to develop a strong claim, build logical reasoning, and use effective evidence (40 minutes). Students will then practice brainstorming and writing a thesis using a real AP prompt (10 minutes). We’ll wrap up with one-on-one feedback and a review of overall strategies for the AP Lang exam. (10 minutes)
