About

New learners welcome! 😁 We practice algebra 1 skills in a relaxed environment and work on lots of problems together. Looking for a place to practice your Algebra 1 skills and build confidence with a supportive community and lots of fun? Join me every week to play games (lots of Kahoot) and learn algebra together. The plan is to work on a few Khan Academy lessons (in order) every session, so this series is great whether you are currently enrolled in Algebra 1, want to learn it on your own before taking the class, or want a refresher. In addition, we will learn some of what comes next in certain topics, expanding on Algebra 1 knowledge to get ahead and try new types of problems. There will also be plenty of space to bring your own math problems, like homework questions you are stuck on, or math questions you encounter that you think the group could benefit from working on.

If you think you might be interested in this series but are not available during the scheduled time, you can reach out to me and we can to try to find a time that works better for you (depending on other learners, too).

Systems of equations

Systems of equations

Sat 7:45 PM - 8:45 PM UTCDec 20, 7:45 PM - 8:45 PM UTC

😄✖️➕➖➗🟰 We'll work on solving systems of equations with elimination and identifying equivalent systems. We'll also look at a few linear equations and systems of equations/inequalities word problems so we can keep building our skills in connecting to more "real-world" applications. If there's time, we'll start talking about functions and their characteristics, like what f(x) is, what functions represent, domain and range, and an overview of different types of functions. If you are interested in the session but aren't available at this time, feel free to reach out to me and tell me when you are available!
