About
Want to level up your math skills and get ready for higher-level problems?
In this 5-session Algebra II course, we’ll explore core topics like quadratic equations, exponential functions, logarithms, polynomials, and more — all in a small, supportive group (max 5 students).
Whether you're preparing for a test or just need a strong foundation before Precalculus, this course is for you.
📚 Topics include:
Quadratic functions & factoring
Complex numbers
Exponential & logarithmic functions
Polynomials & end behavior
Graph Transformations & Visual Algebra
🧠 Don’t worry if you're rusty — I’ll break everything down clearly and answer every question.
👥 Only 5 students max — plenty of time for support and individual help!

SESSION 1
Equations
Equations
Sun 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM UTCAug 3, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM UTC
Topics:
Solving multi-step linear equations
Literal equations
Compound & absolute value inequalities
Applications (word problems)
Description:
We’ll kick things off by reviewing and advancing your Algebra I skills in solving complex equations and inequalities — the foundation for almost every Algebra II topic. We’ll also practice applying them to real-world scenarios.😶🌫️
SESSION 2

SESSION 2
Complex numbers
Complex numbers
Wed 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM UTCAug 6, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM UTC
Topics:
Standard form of a quadratic
Factoring and solving quadratics
Completing the square
Quadratic formula
Discriminant and complex solutions
Description:
This session dives into all the major ways to solve quadratic equations, including when solutions involve complex numbers. By the end, you'll be able to decide the best method based on the equation.🕞

SESSION 3
Polynomial arithmetic
Polynomial arithmetic
Sat 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM UTCAug 9, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM UTC
Topics:
Adding, subtracting, multiplying polynomials
Factoring techniques (GCF, grouping, special cases)
Polynomial division (intro to long & synthetic)
Zeros of polynomials
Description:
We’ll explore how to manipulate and factor polynomials of various degrees, a core Algebra II skill. You’ll also get a taste of how division and factoring help us find solutions to higher-degree equations.🧵

SESSION 4
Exponential models
Exponential models
Tue 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM UTCAug 12, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM UTC
Topics:
Properties of exponents
Exponential growth & decay
Intro to logarithms
Log rules & solving exponential/log equations
Description:
In this session, we’ll explore exponential functions and their inverse — logarithms. These functions are critical in science and finance, and we’ll demystify how to work with and solve them.🔝
SESSION 5

SESSION 5
Rational exponents and radicals
Rational exponents and radicals
Fri 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM UTCAug 15, 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM UTC
Topics:🍫
Parent functions: linear, quadratic, absolute value, exponential, etc.
Vertical and horizontal shifts
Reflections across axes
Stretching and compressing graphs
Interpreting transformations algebraically and visually
Description:
In our final session, we’ll focus on how graphs change when we transform their equations. You’ll learn to recognize and describe shifts, reflections, stretches, and compressions for key parent functions. Understanding these transformations helps you graph faster, solve problems visually, and spot function behavior on tests like the SAT. We’ll finish with some practice problems that mix functions and transformations to tie everything together.🎯
