About

Hi everybody! This workshop is about the dangers of artificial turf playing fields. In this workshop we will be covering its harm towards the environment, athletic health, and other factors. This workshop is part of my Girl Scout Gold award project and is done in collaboration with the Sierra Club, Beyond Pesticides, and Beyond Plastics. I would really appreciate if you would join!

Hello, I am a current junior high school student from the Bay Area. I have a 1570 SAT score (800 math, 770 reading), and I have gotten 5’s on all my AP exams thus far! I love math and science and my dream is to work in the healthcare field someday. I also really enjoy working with people and helping them grow. As a tutor at my school, I have a ton of experience working with other students. In my free time I play soccer and participate in Speech and Debate. I am also a Girl Scout! As a piano player, I love music, but my favorite singer is probably Lana Del Rey.

You can come for one session only! We will be covering the same material for each session. The session may not take 45 minutes. The presentation should be around 10-15 minutes and the rest of the time will be towards asking questions.

We plan to study the dangers behind artificial turf. This is a great way for learners to understand the dangers of microplastics in "fields" (pardon the pun) that are not talked about frequently.
