About
From someone who got an 5 on AP Calculus (me :D), you will learn all the techniques you will use in AP Calculus and some conceptual Calculus. The main focus here is to better understand non-Calculus concepts that aren’t heavily covered in school that are used in Calculus while also learning Calculus basics. Here, we will do formula derivations and intuition building so you have a strong foundation for the school year in AP Calculus!

SESSION 1
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sat 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 2, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will do a brief review of algebraic evaluation and graph reading. We will derive algebraic formulas (such as the quadratic formula), and we will go over algebraic manipulation. We will go over graph reading and how to identify graph features, such as slope and concavity.

SESSION 2
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sun 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 3, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will go over the notion of a limit and techniques to evaluate them algebraically. We will also go over continuity, differentiability, and discontinuity. We will also see algebraically why certain discontinuities exist.

SESSION 3
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sat 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 9, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will go over the notion of a derivative. We will also derive limit-based definitions of a derivative. We will go over how to use the derivative to make conclusions about functions, and we will build intuition with real life scenarios. This will be more of a thinking exercise, so we will not be going over derivative rules or evaluating derivatives.

SESSION 4
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sun 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 10, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will go over the Squeeze Theorem, Mean Value Theorem, Intermediate Value Theorem, Extreme Value Theorem, and Rolle’s Theorem. This gets into higher-level considerations of continuity and function analysis. We will derive these theorems to build intuition, formally define them, and understand when to use them.

SESSION 5
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sat 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 16, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will go over trigonometric functions and identities. We will derive these identities to help build intuition. We will also go over when to apply them in a Calculus context. This is meant to be a thought exercise, so once the trigonometric manipulation is complete, we will not evaluate derivates or integrals. This is to help recognize when and how to manipulate trigonometric functions.

SESSION 6
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sun 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 17, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will go over the notion of an integral and how it relates to the derivative. We will also derive limit-based definitions of an integral. We will go over how to use integrals to make conclusions about functions, and we will go over real life scenarios to build intuition about the integral. This is more of a thinking exercise, so we will not be going over integral rules or evaluating integrals.

SESSION 7
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sat 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 23, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will go over series and how they apply in a Calculus context. We will go over how to derive series and formulas relating to series. We will go over real-life scenarios with series to build intuition. This is meant to be a thought exercise, so we will not be evaluating complex series, only how to set them up and when to consider them.

SESSION 8
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sun 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 24, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will derive Geometric formulas such as the distance formula and Pythagorean Theorem. We will discuss how to use Geometry in a Calculus context, and we will go over real life scenarios to build intuition about these formulas and when to use them in a Calculus context. This is meant to be a thought exercise, so we will not be evaluating final integrals or derivatives, but notice how to set them up and manipulate them with these formulas.

SESSION 9
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sat 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 30, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will go over the notion of an integral in polar coordinates and polar area. We will also derive limit-based definitions for polar integrals. We will go over real-life scenarios that use polar integrals to build intuition. This is meant to be a thought exercise, so we will not be evaluating polar integrals.

SESSION 10
AP Calculus
AP Calculus
Sun 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTCAug 31, 12:00 AM - 1:30 AM UTC
In this session, we will wrap up all of these topics. We will look at real-life scenarios and see if we can apply the skills we learned to them. This session will make sure your intuition is grounded, and we will address any questions or gaps in our intuition. To end this series, we’ll do a Q&A about my experience in AP Calculus to help relieve any anxieties about the class or just if you want to know more about the experience!
