About

Hey! My name is Josephine. I've taken the SAT 2 times so far, and I've recently gotten a 710 on the Reading and Writing section. I'll be here to help you learn different tips and tricks to ace the Reading and Writing portion of the SAT. I'll also be taking the March SAT with you as well. :)

This series will last a full four weeks before the SAT. We'll meet up only on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 5:30 PM CT. Please try not to miss many sessions, as each session contains a good amount of material! If you can't make a session, however, please make sure to tell me!

We'll learn together, while making some mistakes on the way, but I'll make sure we'll have fun learning! I'll try to make the environment as engaging and supportive as I can.

Oh, and one final thing; even when we don't have sessions, make sure to PRACTICE as much as you can! (trust me, as a former procrastinator, it helps :D)

Our first session will be on Saturday, February 11th. Hope you enjoy this super SAT series!

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in both Reading and Writing & Language. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than one session over the four weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session.

Message your tutor if you have an extenuating circumstance and must miss a session. If you have two unexcused absences, your tutor may remove you from the bootcamp series.

About the Tutor

Hi! My name is Josephine, and I'm from Texas. In my free time, I love drawing portraits, playing puzzle games, or reading novels (with the occasional Netflix/YouTube binge-watching). I'm here to help my other peers by providing tips and tricks for the SAT as well as easing worries about it. I hope you're able to learn at least a couple of things! Trust me; the SAT is not as hard as you think! :)

We’ll start with an orientation to get to know each other. Then, we will review Standard English Conventions and Grammar in the writing section. After, we will work through a shortened practice exam and review questions you’d like to go over.

We’ll begin by reviewing Expressions of Ideas on the writing sections. After, we will finish the practice exam from the first session and we will review any questions you have. We will wrap the session up with targeted writing practice.

We will review SAT Testing Tips and strategies for tackling the Literature passage. We will work through an example together, then do 1 passage of a practice exam. After, we will review exam and work through any questions you’d like to go over.

We’ll take another practice exam (Writing and Language). We will then review the exam and  work through any questions you’d like to go over. We will end the session with a quick round of targeted writing practice.

We’ll start the session by reviewing strategies for a focus passage type (based on the results of the previous practice exams). Afterwards, we will begin the a reading practice exam and review any questions you have.

We’ll first finish the reading practice exam from the previous session. We will then answer any questions you have from the practice. To end off the session (and the bootcamp!), we’ll wrap up everything and provide some final words of advice/encouragement.
