About

My name is Ryan and I am very excited to be your tutor! I am retaking the SAT in the August timeline so I can share my direct experiences to you guys as well!

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can!

Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

Hello, fellow Schoolhouse.world classmates! My name is Ryan and I am a HS senior. While I live in the USA, I speak Mandarin at home. You probably come here to know what kind of tutor I am, so I'll just say it: I think connection is the base of all peer tutoring, so that's something I aim to emphasize with my learning structures. I'm not a fan of lecture-style tutoring (though I sometimes do it anyways since I have a habit of overexplaning myself) and I'm not a fan of textbook-style learning: you learn the way you feel most with. With the way I talk, and the fact that I'm kind of anti-social and giddy when I talk, you won't get the most straightforward session, but what you will get is one that makes you feel welcome and comfortable (I hope 😊) Now about me: I enjoy jazz music and play for a bunch of my school choir and band groups. I am an avid gamer alongside that, and I'm often chilling/raging on a ranked game in Mobile Legends or Honor of Kings. I help my parents in work for roughly 20-35 hours a week, and I also participate in Quiz Bowl and Model United Nations, in addition to acting as the Vice President of my choir. I've always liked to explore and challenge myself, as shown by the numbers of AP and college courses I take, but I can also hide in my comfort zone a lot too, which is something I'm attempting to fight, with tutoring (especially big class tutoring) being one of them since I'm socially anxious. But whatever the case may be, we will have a great time!
