Hey guys! I’m Mattis, a homeschooled 9th grader currently living in Shenzhen, China! I’m really into art (digital and ordinary pen+paper) and I love writing fiction novels (two of them, Ebse Nexus and Bombardment B, are nearly done), which are typically a blend of sci-fi and fantasy. One of my stories, Hamburg Shootout, is now complete! Update: as I have been temporarily suspended as a tutor, it will not be possible for me to host sessions as of now. Since I learn mostly through Khan Academy videos and exercises, I am really thankful to Sal Khan for making this possible. I used to be very active on Khan Academy (before I got muted for some reason) and I decided to come here to help people with R&W, art, and creative writing. I know a lot of people really want to be Gryffindor, but I actually prefer Slytherin. My favorite games are: Minecraft, Krunker.io (#1 class: Triggerman), War of Sticks, Gimkit (recently became a huge fan), and Chess (on chess.com or lichess.org). My favorite books: Harry Potter, LOTR, and Percy Jackson. I’m hosting an ongoing session on the latter. I hate orange. As for hobbies, I have a ton of them: Writing fiction, chess, speed typing (avg. speed roughly 80-90 wpm, record 117 wpm), drawing my characters, and reading books. I absolutely adore drawing and try to make at least three a day. Right now I’m learning German, Mandarin Chinese (both on Duolingo), and conlangs, mostly Ebsian, a language I created for my stories.
