Algebra foundations

Algebra foundations

Tue 12:00 AM - 1:20 AM UTCMar 14, 12:00 AM - 1:20 AM UTC

This session will basically help you prepare for Algebra I from Pre-algebra. This session is like the building blocks of Algebra 1. We will introduce and cover variables then we will talk about division by 0. I recommend bringing any paper, a pencil, and an eraser. A prerequisite that I recommend before learning Algebra foundations or any Algebra 1 content is pre-algebra. But even someone taking pre-algebra/knows some pre-algebra should be able to grasp Algebra foundations and are welcome to join.

Solving equations & inequalities

Solving equations & inequalities

Wed 12:00 AM - 12:40 AM UTCMar 15, 12:00 AM - 12:40 AM UTC

This session will cover from equations to inequalities. Very related to multi-step equations in Pre-Algebra but more in-depth with introductions to inequalities. We will continue solving equations that are one-step and cover basic inequalities and then go deeper to word problems and compound inequalities. I recommend bringing any paper, a pencil, and an eraser. A prerequisite that I recommend before learning Algebra foundations or any Algebra 1 content is pre-algebra. But even someone taking pre-algebra/knows some pre-algebra should be able to grasp this topic and are welcome to join.

Forms of linear equations

Forms of linear equations

Thu 12:00 AM - 12:40 AM UTCMar 16, 12:00 AM - 12:40 AM UTC

We will cover what a line on a graph is, traits of a line on a graph, equations, and how to write equations for lines. I recommend bringing graph paper, pencil, and an eraser to solve problems and take notes.

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

Fri 11:00 PM - 11:40 PM UTCMar 17, 11:00 PM - 11:40 PM UTC

We will cover what a parabola is (another word for quadratic), traits of a parabola, equations, and how to transform (move) a parabola. I recommend bringing graph paper, pencil, and an eraser to solve problems and take notes.

SESSION 8

Absolute value & piecewise functions

Absolute value & piecewise functions

Sat 11:00 PM - 11:40 PM UTCMar 18, 11:00 PM - 11:40 PM UTC

We will cover what an absolute value function is (another word for quadratic), traits of a absolute value function, equations, and how to transform (move) a absolute value function. We will also do the same for piecewise functions (a.k.a. step/staircase functions). We will also work to evaluate piecewise functions. I recommend bringing graph paper, pencil, and an eraser to solve problems and take notes.

Mon 11:30 PM - Tue, 12:45 AM UTCMar 20, 11:30 PM - Mar 21, 12:45 AM UTC

We will complete the series by taking a final exam to summarize the topics and establish understanding of the topics. The final consists of 10 questions (5 multiple choices & 5 select all checkboxes questions). We will review via games before we get into it! I'll answer any questions before we take the final and after we take the final. The final will take place on Google Form.
