About

Want to be able to solve the integrals from the MIT Integration Bee? Want to know more about integration? This series is for you!
We will review some integration techniques that will be important to know to solve the integrals in the MIT Integration Bee. Then, we will work through some of the integrals from the bee. This series is for anyone who is interested in integration, regardless of your "skill". All questions on this bee can be solved with elementary methods. It would be great if you are already familiar with integration and calculus concepts. A completely elementary understanding of calculus is definitely fine. This is a series to culture curiosity and have fun integrating. You will need anything that you do math on or take notes on.
After some review and practice, we can run a integration bee of our own. We can either do similar difficulty questions but more time or less difficult question but same time.
If learners want to, at the end of the series, I can go over some advanced methods of integration that are used less often but are pretty cool regardless.

I'm a student who likes to help others with school work. My favorite subject is mathematics as it is a lens for us to see the world. I have a great interest in science, specifically physics. I have a passion for policy debate and I have been debating for the past 4 years and have judged a few tournaments. Some other extracurriculars I am involved in are, robotics team and ping pong club. My robotics team partakes in First Robotics Competitions. I hope to share my knowledge and learn a few skills from this website.

SESSION 1

AP Calculus

AP Calculus

Thu 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTCJun 12, 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTC

We will go over what the integration bee is. Then, we will cover the basics and the concept of integration (Unit 6 in AP Calculus). The purpose is to build intuition around the concept. This should be review for most, but if not, this is an important session. You will need whatever you need to take notes and/or do math on.

Mon 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTCJun 23, 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTC

[OPTIONAL] The session is for anyone who still has questions over integration and wants further review. I would encourage you to join if you don't have much experience or knowledge in calculus because it is very important to understand to be able to integrate more difficult questions.

AP Calculus

Thu 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTCJul 3, 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTC

We will cover any basic integration methods seen in the AP curriculum that we weren't able to get to in the last session. If we have time, we will also go over some tricks that can speed up some of the basic integration techniques.

Tue 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTCJul 8, 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM UTC

We will cover some unconventional functions that MIT likes to use in their integration bee like ceiling, floor, max, min, fractional part, etc. Then, we will do some practice integrating those functions. If we have time, we will go over some plans for our integration bee.
