About

Hello! We are Derek U and Marika S and we are super excited to host a dialogue club here on Schoolhouse.world. Covering a variety of political and social topics, ranging from immigration to healthcare, we invite you take part in these exciting and fun discussions with peers of your own. Besides, you can gain valuable experience in these sessions that can help you in college applications and future careers. We'll start off by hosting these 6 sessions as co-presidents this summer, so please join! We would love to get to work with you!

Join a virtual Dialogue Club to form a community with students from around the world. Dialogue Clubs meet every other week to discuss a new topic. By participating in 3+ Dialogue sessions, you will get a Dialogues portfolio you can submit with your college applications to our university partners.

My name is Derek, and I'm a high school sophomore from Pennsylvania! I am a prospective pre-med student with a 4.5 GPA and experience in rigorous Honors and AP courses. I genuinely enjoy helping my peers reach their ultimate success in their academic endeavors. My mission on Schoolhouse is to build personal relationships with students who have a passion for learning, to educate all students using engaging learning tools, and to create a learning environment that students from diverse backgrounds can be comfortable in. I am a Coach for the SAT Prep Subworld and a Dialogue Club President! In these leadership roles, you can find me mentoring and inspiring peers to become amazing tutors and learners for our community. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you ever need any help. In terms of tutoring, I specialize in SAT test preparation for R&W and Math. I know how stressful the SAT can be—but with the right strategies, practice, and support, it’s totally possible for students to reach their goals goals. Whether they're aiming for a perfect score or just trying to boost their confidence, I’ll help students break down each section of the SAT into easy-to-understand steps with test-taking tips, time-management strategies, and the overall mindset for SAT mastery. I work with all students from non-native English speakers looking to understand simple grammar rules to extremely motivated students looking for a 1500+. Please reach out if you are interested in one-on-one sessions or feel free to join one of my sessions or SAT Bootcamps!
