About

This comprehensive course covers all the material in AP Calculus AB and BC, including limits, derivatives, integrals, infinite series, and more, with a strong emphasis on AP exam preparation.

Prerequisites: Pre-calculus or trigonometry (concurrent calculus enrollment is helpful, but not required).

The course follows a lecture-homework format, with a week between sessions to allow the material to sink in. Exercises will be provided, and completing them is highly recommended to solidify your understanding. Weekly office hours offer personalized support, and assessments at the end of each major unit—Limits, Derivatives, Integrals, and Infinite Series—will help gauge progress and comprehension.

Hi! I'm a Junior in high school who self-studies primarily Mathematics. Currently, reading Topology by Munkres' and Algebra by Hungerford with plans to further my studies in Algebra and Analysis, as well as Discrete math and Physics later on. I have a passion for math and plan to have some fun tutoring math and other subjects on here.

Differentiation: definition and basic derivative rules

Differentiation: definition and basic derivative rules

Thu 10:30 PM - Fri, 12:30 AM UTCJan 2, 10:30 PM - Jan 3, 12:30 AM UTC

Today we will define Differentiation. Before calculus, there was no way to find the slope at a particular value, however using the concept of a limit, it is possible to make sense of this. The derivative has numerous applications in business and finance, physics, and many other areas, as we will see later in this course.

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Wed 10:30 PM - Thu, 12:30 AM UTCJan 8, 10:30 PM - Jan 9, 12:30 AM UTC

Today, we will learn more about differentiation, learning how to take the derivative of more tricky functions, like implicit or inverse functions. These are crucial to further expand what types of functions we can differentiate, potentially without even knowing an explicit expression for the function.

Contextual applications of differentiation

Contextual applications of differentiation

Wed 10:30 PM - Thu, 12:30 AM UTCJan 15, 10:30 PM - Jan 16, 12:30 AM UTC

Today we will learn all sorts of derivative applications. What shape container minimizes surface area for a set volume? How do we maximize profit? Minimize costs? These are all things we will cover today. We'll also learn how to analyze functions with their derivatives. When is a function concave up? How about concave down? Increasing or decreasing? These are all things we'll cover today. We'll wrap up derivatives today and head into integrals next.

Integration and accumulation of change

Wed 10:30 PM - Thu, 12:30 AM UTCJan 22, 10:30 PM - Jan 23, 12:30 AM UTC

Integration and accumulation of change

Wed 10:30 PM - Thu, 12:30 AM UTCFeb 5, 10:30 PM - Feb 6, 12:30 AM UTC

Today, we will learn more techniques to help integrate functions. We will build on the techniques we made in the last lesson and wrap up the computational aspect of integrals today. AP Calc AB students may skip this lesson (or join if you want to learn some more calculus!)

SESSION 14

Differential equations

Differential equations

Wed 10:30 PM - Thu, 12:30 AM UTCFeb 12, 10:30 PM - Feb 13, 12:30 AM UTC

Today, we will learn how to apply our knowledge of integrals to solve basic differential equations. These equations are incredibly useful in areas like engineering, but for the AP test we only need to know the basics.
