About

We will use calculus to explore vectors, kinematics, and dynamics. We will build from the ground up, developing intuition and deriving the origins of each formula.

For this class, we will collaborate on a whiteboard to solve problems. If you prefer to take notes or write on paper instead of the whiteboard, it might be helpful to bring a pencil and a piece of paper.

Please ensure you are familiar with differential and integral calculus. Although I will try to cover everything you need to know, keep in mind that we are here to reinforce and clarify concepts rather than learn them from scratch.

I hope you'll join us for this session!

Hi everyone! I'm a high school senior in Ontario, Canada. I have been doing web development since grade seven and have achieved a perfect score on Waterloo CCC JD. I'm also passionate about STEM and engineering. I have been a coordinator, programmer, designer, and builder on a VEX & First robotics teams. I have also taught myself in AP Calc BC and AP Physics C, and I am currently working through MIT's Principles of Chemical Science and AP Stats. I love these subjects and would love to help out anyone in need!

SESSION 1

Kinematics and introduction to dynamics

Kinematics and introduction to dynamics

Sun 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM UTCNov 17, 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM UTC

We will discuss vectors and the ways we represent them. We will look at some vector operations relevant to kinematics and apply these principles to some physical quantities.

SESSION 2

Kinematics and introduction to dynamics

Kinematics and introduction to dynamics

Mon 10:15 AM - 11:30 AM UTCNov 18, 10:15 AM - 11:30 AM UTC

We will review some calculus concepts needed for kinematics. We will go over equations and extend them to multiple dimensions. We will end by discussing projectiles and range formulas.

Kinematics and introduction to dynamics

Kinematics and introduction to dynamics

Tue 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM UTCDec 3, 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM UTC

We will finish the trajectory question we didn't get to in the last session, start talking about circular motion, derive the formulas for centripetal acceleration and the position function with its derivatives, and apply these formulas to tackle a few questions.
