About

This College Admissions Workshop on The Essay is a virtual 4-week workshop designed to provide you with structure and support to write your college essays this summer.

In this workshop, you will:
  • Learn the purpose and the must-dos of the personal statement
  • Learn and practice strategies for picking a prompt, brainstorming, drafting, and revising your writing
  • Understand the role of supplemental questions and strategies for organizing your questions and responses
  • Work alongside other students who are also preparing to apply to college.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than one session over the four weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session. You are allowed one unexcused absence in this program before you may be removed from the series. Repeated unexcused absences from required sessions may result in suspension from the Schoolhouse platform.

If you must miss a session, please submit an excused absence on your series page.

About the Tutor

I am a recent graduate with a bachelor's in science, with biology as my major and chemistry as my minor. I am a pre-med student studying for the MCAT, and I am willing to help anyone with what I have learned through this whole journey. I just want to pass on my knowledge about this complex body, the laws of the world, and everything I know up to now!
