About

Hi! My name is Janelle, and I'm so excited to help you prep for the SAT! I've tutored 3 bootcamp series in the past, and have been a tutor with schoolhouse for about 6 months now. I have also tutored within my community for the past 2 years. I absolutely love having the opportunity to help others deepen their understanding of a variety of concepts, while also showing them that anything can be fun, if you know how to find it! My aim for this series is to not only increase your understanding of SAT concepts, but also show you how to make taking and studying for the SAT more enjoyable overall, through sharing with you a variety of strategies that have helped me! Personally, I used to despise reading. However, a few years ago, I rediscovered my love of fictional works, and, ever since then, I enjoy pretty much any book I can get my hands on (especially fantasy, sci-fi, and romance novels). Thus, I always try to make sessions as exciting as possible, through the integration of mini-games, icebreaker activities, and mini-tips within every session. Hope to see you there!

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in both Reading and Writing & Language. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

I'm a high school senior here to help others with SAT practice! I'm currently enrolled in Calculus AB and can help in any lower math courses, as well as any English course. In my free time, I love reading and writing my own fictional short stories.

Get personalized support with the most challenging questions and concepts.

Please do not miss more than one session over the four weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session.

If you reach two unexcused absences, your tutor may remove you from this series.

Note from Schoolhouse: This series has sessions with required attendance. If you need to miss a required session, submit an absence using the "Submit Excused Absence" button on the series page. Multiple unexcused absences may lead to a suspension of your Schoolhouse account.

You'll have some time to review and reflect on your results from the Bluebook practice exam. Then, we will review questions you'd like to go over and end with group practice of a Focus Skill in the Standard English Conventions Domain.
