About

We'll be going over the very basics of chess, including how to move the pieces, how to do simple checkmates and a few basic openings. Toward the end, we may also get a chance to play some games.

Tutor Qualifications

I've been playing chess for 8 years now, including in numerous national tournaments. I've tutored chess for over three years now, and continued my study of the game even though I've stopped playing tournaments.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You are welcome to attend whatever sessions you'd like, and if you already know a topic, feel free to skip it (for example, if you know how to move the pieces, you can skip the first session. If you are completely knew to chess, however, I recommend attending all of the sessions.
