Series Details

About

We will cover each unit for AP Calculus BC. We will also cover all AP Calculus AB material needed for the BC exam since AB is approximately 60%. We will also do official CollegeBoard MCQs and FRQs from the past 15 years. There will be notes provided but it is up to the learner's discretion to jot them down. Additionally, a graphing calculator is necessary to be able to do certain problems.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than 10 sessions or the tutor will withdraw you from the series. You don't have to message me or inform me if you miss a session because I completely understand that we have other important things to do or unexpected plans.

About the Tutor

Hi everyone! My name is Johanna and I’m a college freshman from Arizona, majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences and minoring in Mathematics. I tutor primarily in Calculus AB, BC, Multivariable Calculus, and SAT math prep and I am also a teaching assistant for AP Calculus AB. My favorite hobbies are volleyball, singing, and drawing.

Session 5

AP Calculus

We will cover Unit 4: Contextual applications of differentiation - representations of real-world problems involving rates of change, applying differentiation to problems involving motion, generalizing understandings of motion problems to other situations involving rates of change, related rates, and local linearity and approximation.

Session 7

AP Calculus

We will cover Unit 5: Analytical applications of derivatives - Mean value theorem, extreme value theorem, first derivative test, second derivative test, candidates test, concavity, inflection points, graphs of f/f'/f'' relationships, and implicit relations. Note: Although optimization is technically part of the curriculum, it's not typically tested on the AP. Therefore, we will not be doing optimization problems. However, I can make a separate series/session to tech optimization depending on the consensus.
