About

(Series is still open for anyone to join!) We will go through all of the vital biology/AP biology topics so you can get a head-start next year! This course requires no Prior knowledge needed/Complete beginner course!. This course is 7 weeks long and each week will consist of a specific unit. It will take place on both Saturdays and Sundays every week throughout the summer. The goal of this course is to teach you guys vital biology concepts so that you are prepared for the next school year. When I mean to teach you vital concepts, I mean EVERYTHING. We will be learning from the ground up, there are no prerequisites to this class. Here are the topics: - Unit 1: Science Processing Skills. (Dependent Variable, Independent Variable, Hypothesis, characteristics of living things, etc.) - Unit 2: Biochemistry. (Water, pH scale, properties of water, etc.) - Unit 3: Cells (Functions of cells, types of cells, etc.) - Unit 4: Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, Energy (Respiration, photosynthesis, chemical reactions, etc.) - Unit 5: Cell growth and division (Mitosis, Meiosis, Cell Cycle, etc.) - Unit 6: DNA (RNA, DNA, protein synthesis, Base pairing, etc.) - Unit 7: Genetics (Traits, Alleles, Gene Expression, punnet squares, etc. ) The only things you need to bring to these sessions are a paper/pencil for notes and a drive to learn! Saturdays will be for learning and Sundays will be for practicing and reinforcing the concepts that we learned! Each class will have homework and there will be quizzes throughout! More sessions will be added as we progress through the series **Participation is a MUST. This series will involve a lot of practice questions and interactivity, so I at least ask all of you to participate, whether you want to unmute, talk in the chat, etc.** **THIS course is the EXACT same as the original course. Only sign up for this course if you are not able to make the times for the original one, please don't sign up for both because it limits other students from joining and getting the opportunity to learn. If enough people don't sign up for this course, it may be cancelled because it is pretty late in the day for me!**
