About

If you are looking for help with the Math section of the SAT, then I am here to help! My name is Brady and I am specialized in a variety of math topics, ranging from Pre-algebra to Geometry. During my sessions, not only will you learn the necessary mathematical topics needed to succeed, but we will also dive into how the mathematical topics are derived.

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You'll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it's a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can't have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

To get the most out of this series and respect other learners, follow these attendance rules:

You can only miss one unexcused session over the four weeks. Missing more can impact your learning and may take a spot from another learner who wants to join.

Need to miss a session? Let your tutor know by using the "Submit excused absence" button on the series page. Then, catch up by using the Session Makeup Guide or attending a live make-up session.

Multiple unexcused absences? If you reach two unexcused absences, you may be removed from the series and your Schoolhouse account may be suspended.

We'll start with an orientation to get to know each other, and go over the curriculum of this bootcamp. We'll also go over some information about the dSAT itself.

Then, we will work through a shortened practice exam that introduces the four math domains. Afterwards, we'll review questions you'd like to go over, but we'll also do some Khan Academy practice if there is time. To wrap up the session, we'll go over some testing tips. For all sessions, please bring a pencil, paper, and a calculator, and have Schoolhouse and Desmos open.

For the upcoming group practices, I, the tutor, will choose the Focus Skills based on practice test results, but if you want to request a certain skill that you're really struggling with, then let me know!

We'll begin with group practice of two Focus Skills in the Algebra Domain. I will choose these skills, based on results from the practice exam taken in Session 1. Then, we will work through a shortened practice exam and review questions you'd like to go over.

Going through a Focus Skill consists of me giving off a few tips and tricks to introduce the skill, which can be from myself or external sources, then doing a warm-up problem or two, then doing some practice problems collectively.

We will go over some testing strategies for taking the digital SAT and you will have the opportunity to take a full practice test on the Bluebook platform. Prior to this session, you should already have a Bluebook account and be familiar with its features.

You'll have some time to review and reflect on your results from the Bluebook practice exam. Then, we will review questions you'd like to go over and end with group practice of two Focus Skills in the Geometry & Trigonometry Domain. I will choose these skills based on results from the practice exams taken in Sessions 1, 2, 3, and 4.

We'll spend time reviewing a selection of the Focus Skills we covered together. We will be diving deeper into these Focus Skills and walk through difficult problems. To end the session and the bootcamp, we'll wrap up everything and provide some final words of advice/encouragement, as well as recall some testing tips mentioned in Session 1.
