About

We'll be following through the curriculum of "The Art of Problem Solving" Volumes 1 and 2. Our primary focus will be to learn the methods and concepts for a strong foundation in mathematics, whether for school, competition, or leisure. General knowledge of Algebra or above is recommended, but not required.

Tutor Qualifications

I took mathematics up to calculus and have taken the AMC.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Since many of these concepts are not strictly cumulative, you are free to attend whichever sessions you want. However, it is recommended to come to as many as you can.

Orientation

This will be a short meeting to meet each other and have a general overview of what we're going to do. Please come to this one if you can.

This session will focus on various geometric methods and formulas. We will cover vocabulary, trigonometric functions, trigonometric formulas, triangle laws, and cyclic quadrilaterals.

This session will focus on limits. We will cover properties of limits, continuity, e, and the formal definition of a limit

AoPS Math

This session will focus on complex numbers. We will cover the complex plane, complex geometry, DeMoivre's Theorem, roots of unity, and Euler's Identity.

This session will focus on sequences and series. We will cover Sigma notation, arithmetic and geometric sequences, Fibonnaci's sequence, and infinite sums.

This session will focus on infinity. We will review limits and infinite sums. We will cover cardinality and sizes of infinity.

This is a session for those who couldn't make it to the first geometry session. This session will focus on various geometric methods and formulas. We will cover vocabulary, trigonometric functions, trigonometric formulas, and triangle laws.

This session will focus on preparing for calculus. This session is for anyone who is planning to take calculus in the next few years. We will cover limits, trigonometry, infinite sums, Riemann sums, and a basic intuition of derivatives.
